Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

What does the day of surgery look like?

Once each patient has their preoperative exam, they will sit down with our surgical coordinator to determine the day and time that works best for their schedule. Once the patient has their appointment set, we ask you to arrive to our office 15 minutes early for any paperwork that needs to be completed. Once your name is called for surgery, you will be greeted by our preoperative technician to hear more about the procedure.  At this time you will be cleaned and prepped for surgery. LASIK procedures typically last 5-10 minutes per eye. Cataract surgery last about 20-25 minutes per eye.

We ask that each patient follows their pre-arrival instructions given to them at the time of their pre-op exam. All prescriptions should be filled before the date of your surgery.

We ask that each patient brings a driver the day of their surgery.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

Our office accepts most medical insurances for cataracts surgery. Please call to find out if we accept your insurance.

LASIK is considered a cosmetic procedure. Medical insurance does NOT cover LASIK.

Our office supports a financing option, Care Credit with up to 24 months interest free.

What kind of postoperative care do I need?

Depending on your surgery, we ask that each patient follows up at their optometrist's office the following day for a post-op exam. This exam includes a visual acuity test as well as a quick physical exam of the surgical site. We ask that you bring all drops/medications prescribed to you to this visit.

Post-op exams typically are scheduled as follows; one day, one week, one month, 3 months, 6 months.
